Black boy 2
November 20th, 2008 by ishjack
I am not fully enjoying this book, it’s a tedious book. The story is a bit the same all the time but, I feel so bad that this boy is so oppressed and to think that someone had to go through all this and still become a writer is incredible.

Black boy
November 11th, 2008 by ishjack
I am reading black boy. It’s a book by richard wright, it’s a autobiographical novel. It’s about a black boy living in southern America, in the 1920s. I like this book but sometimes it’s difficult to believe it’s real. What I don’t like about this book is it’s to descriptive.

Celebration
November 4th, 2008 by ishjack

We have a celebration in the Netherlands called Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas is like santa except for Dutch children. He comes in through the chimney and if you leave your shoe out he puts candy and presents in them. The candy he puts in are Chocolate letters, your initials, and papernooten, which is a like a cookie.

Where I live
November 4th, 2008 by ishjack

I live in the Netherlands it is west of Germany and north of Belgium. I live in Hilversum. Hilversum is close to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. I start school at 8:30 and end it about 3:30. I bike to school because it’s easy and I don’t live to far away. Our subjects are mixed up, we don’t have math everyday, we don’t have english every day. I like living in the Netherlands because it is safe, we don’t have any gangs, everybody speaks english and the food is great!

The Shining by Stephen King
October 28th, 2008 by ishjack
I am well past halfway of this book and now I know its good. The only thing I don’t like about this book is it’s a bit tedious, it takes a chapter to describe one thing. What I like about this book is its well written and it makes the hotel seem like a character. I also like how the author writes what the people are thinking.

Sachar, Louis. Small Steps. New York:Random house, 2008
Book Report on Small Steps
An interview with Theodore “Armpit” Johnson.
1. What are your small steps for life?
Answer: 1. Graduate from high school 2. Get a job 3. Save your money 4. Avoid situations that might turn violent 5. Lose the name Armpit.
2. Why are you friends with Ginny McDonald?
Answer: She’s my neighbour and we know each other well, we get over the age difference and get over that she has a mental disability.
3. Why do you work in the gardening business?
Answer: I used to be at Camp Green Lake and we did a lot of digging there and I do a lot of digging now.
4. What do you think of your boss, Jack Dunlevy?
Answer: I like him, he’s a good boss and he even gave me a promotion.
5. How did you feel when X-Ray told you about his plan?
Answer: I thought it wouldn’t work, the whole idea of sell the Kaira DeLeon concert tickets a second time.
6. Why are you friends with X-Ray he seems to get you into a lot of trouble?
Answer: He was with me at Camp Green Lake and we work at the same company but sometimes X-Ray can get over the top and make me mad.
7. How do you feel about Felix and Moses the other ticket scalpers?
Answer: I think their just people trying to make a living, but they take an awful pride in their work.
8. How did it feel to have the mayor of Austin complimenting you?
Answer: I felt great, I felt that my life was beginning to go somewhere.
9. Why did you take Ginny to the Kaira DeLeon concert instead of Tatiana?
Answer: Ginny was feeling bad because she thought her father left because of her disability. Tatiana called and said she already had plans, so to cheer Ginny up I asked her if she wanted to go.
10. How did it feel when you found out your tickets were copies and Ginny had a seizure?
Answer: I felt it was my fault that Ginny had a seizure, I thought something would happen with all the lights flashing.
11. I heard you and Ginny were brought backstage after she had a seizure and met Kaira DeLeon, how did that feel?
Answer: I thought Ginny had a good time and so did I.
12. What was Kaira DeLeon like?
Answer: She was like any other teenager, she didn’t seem to be a pop star.
13. When you found out that X-Ray copied the tickets how did you feel?
Answer: I wanted to kill him, the worst thing of all he didn’t even tell me.
14. When Kaira DeLeon asked you to meet her how did you feel?
Answer: I don’t know, I felt good but I also felt weird that I was meeting a pop star.
15. When Kaira DeLeon asked you to meet her in San Francisco how did you feel?
Answer: I felt like a donkey between two haystacks I didn’t know which one to go to. If I went to San Francisco I would have to skip work and school, but I could be missing on a chance.
16. What was the winning argument that made you go to San Francisco?
Answer: I just wanted to see Kaira again.
17. When you had the Argument with Kaira in the café how did you feel?
Answer: I didn’t think before I acted, I thought everything I said was a good argument but it wasn’t.
18. When you went into Kaira’s room to apologize and you saw Kaira and her bodyguard on the floor and her manager with a baseball bat what did you do?
Answer: I lunged at him and punched him to the floor.
19. Why did you think there wouldn’t be a trial to see if you beat Kaira?
Answer: I knew there wouldn’t be a trial because Kaira’s manager confessed and I was the one that called 911.
20. How did it feel to here Kaira sing small steps?
Answer: I was happy to hear her sing, but sad because I knew I might never see her again.
